Dr Rob Wain, Clinical Director BDS 1988
Dr Rob Wain graduated from Newcastle University School of Dentistry in 1988 and went immediately into General Practice in Whitley Bay. In 1992 he moved to 137 The Dental Practice in Gosforth becoming Practice Principal and providing implant and advanced restorative care for patients from Yorkshire to the Borders and across to Cumbria.
A drive for advanced training led to Rob attending some of the world's most prestigious training events in the UK, Europe and the USA.
Rob has lectured and taught around the UK on a range of subjects including aesthetics, implantology and minimal intervention dentistry. He has presented to the International Association of Dental Researchers in San Diego and is a consultant for dental companies.
Rob established Dovetail in 2008 and is the lead clinical director responsible for prosthetics, treatment planning and co-ordination. He has a particular interest in aesthetics and rehabilitation of failing teeth and mouths.
Rob is a member of The British Dental Association, The British Academy of Cosmetic Dentists, The Association of Dental Implantology (UK), The International Association of Minimal Intervention Dentistry and North East Private Dentists.

David Vivian BDS
Rob and David first met as undergraduates at the Newcastle University Dental School in 1982, from where David Vivian qualified as a dental surgeon in 1988.
On qualification David returned to his native East Yorkshire to join a forward looking practice in Hull. Accepting a partnership in 1990, David helped make Newell, Pinder and Vivian one of Yorkshire's most prestigious practices. The practice has now joined the James Hull Group. David continues to work part-time at the practice where he provides implant services as he does at practices in Gosforth, Cottingham, and Scarborough.
Rob and David have worked together on implant cases since 2002, their career paths and training have led to parallel but complimentary skills in the fields of aesthetic, restorative and implant dentistry.
David's experience in dental implants stretches back over 15 years. His major training courses include training on prosthetic aspects of the Branemark system 1993 and the prestigious Eastman Step by Step Course 1996-1997.
David has been a member of the Association of Dental Implantology since 1996 and a member of the Society for Advancement in Anaesthesia in Dentistry since 1993. David has always been active within the British Dental Association and is currently president of the Yorkshire Branch.

David's particular interest is in full arch rehabilitation with immediate function. He has extensive experience of the Novum, All-on-4 and Nobelguide systems since 2001.
He is experienced with intravenous sedation, block grafting, platelet rich plasma, sinus augmentation and guided tissue augmentation techniques. Systems used include Nobel Biocare; Branemark and Replace, 3I, Neoss, Astra, Camlog.
David is happy to accept referrals for all aspects of implant dentistry, with the experience of over 1800 fixtures placed. He is equally at home with both the surgical and prosthodontic phases of treatment.
David has attended international courses in Gothenburg, Los Angeles, Lisbon, London, Palm Beach and Antwerp.
Rob attended the Tipton one year advanced restorative course in 1993, following this with the one year advanced aesthetics and implants courses. He has continued to attend high quality courses including numerous trips to the States, Spain, Italy and Belgium.
Rob has over 15 years experience of providing full mouth rehabilitation treatments and has been carrying out implant prosthetics for 12 years.
Rob accepts referrals for both implant and conventional prosthetic rehabilitation and aesthetic cases.
Kelly Taylor, Dovetail Care Co-ordinator
Kelly is from Dunston and began her dental career in 1992. She started working with Rob Wain in 1999 and they have worked together as a team ever since. Over the last decade, Kelly has gained huge experience in advanced, close support restorative and implant dentistry.
Her role at Dovetail is not only to provide chair side assistance, oversee nursing and laboratory control standards but also as Dovetail Care Co-ordinator to liaise with clients, offering support and guidance throughout their treatments.

Rachel Dodds, Dovetail Care Co-ordinator
Rachel is a people person who excels at putting people at their ease. She brings 13 years of dental experience to Dovetail, the last 9 in implant dentistry.
Rachel combines her role as a Dovetail Care Co-ordinator with cross infection control management, ensuring the absolute cleanliness of all our equipment. Rachel also manages our education and training programmes.
