Why refer to us?

We all want to do what is best for our patients but time pressures in the NHS can make it difficult to spend the time that we would like discussing treatment options with a patient. Nevertheless, we have obligations to our clients to inform them of all the treatment options available. Dovetail can help you square the circle.

Dovetail offers a high class referral service. Drs Rob Wain and David Vivian have over 25 years of implant experience and have completed hundreds of full rehabilitations, both crown and bridge and implant based. If you are not sure if implant or restorative care is appropriate we offer a free initial consultation service for your patients. Implant uses and indications guide lists are available for in-surgery use.

We can provide you with Patient Information Leaflets to give to your patients. Bullet point summaries of the most common uses of implants are available in laminated form for surgery use.

We are happy to take your referrals for advanced restorative care. Our areas of interest are aesthetic and occlusal rehabilitation including single, multiple and full arch implant cases.

We can accept referrals by telephone, in writing or via the online referral form.

Following consultation a report will be sent to you and if treatment is provided the patient will be returned to your practice for maintenance. A full report of treatment provided and a recommended maintenance protocol (radiograph and cleaning frequency) will be issued.

We are happy to deal with any ongoing maintenance issues for you, for example, screws working loose, prosthesis debond etc, to take the pressure off your diary.

We offer an osseointegration guarantee, should an implant fail to integrate we will replace it at no charge. In addition we have a 3 year guarantee against component fracture.

We use Nobelguide and Simplant software to allow flapless surgery resulting in reduced post-operative swelling and discomfort.

We also provide conventional crown and bridge based rehabilitations ranging from simple resin retained bridgework to full arch copings bridges, the latter often offer an economical fixed alternative to implants.

For aesthetic cases, we can provide simple tray and power tooth whitening through veneers and full mouth rehabilitation of severe wear and erosion. Where possible we use adhesive technology to preserve tissue.

If you wish to restore your own fixtures we are happy to perform the surgical aspects for you.

Whilst we use predominantly Nobelbiocare and Branemark implants we also offer Straumann, Astra, Ankylos and camlog fixtures.
