Porcelain veneers are used to cosmetically improve a smile and offer the finest in aesthetic services available today.  In many cases veneers can correct crooked, misaligned smiles, giving the illusion of a perfectly aligned smile and brightening the teeth. Porcelain veneers, also known as dental laminates, consist of a wafer thin shell of porcelain, artistically constructed to duplicate the ideal aesthetic properties of a natural tooth, which is bonded onto the front surface of the teeth.  Porcelain veneers can completely mask unattractively coloured and stained teeth, correct thin and old looking teeth, close gaps between teeth, repair chipped teeth and make crooked and rotated teeth appear straight and even.

Porcelain veneers are very thin, but once bonded in place they are very strong and they can actually make the underlying tooth stronger. Unlike crowns, the amount of tooth that has to be removed is minimal so there is less drilling.

The process begins with a smile analysis involving a careful examination of the mouth, radiographs and taking moulds from which models of your teeth can be poured. We will discuss with you the changes that you seek

We like, whenever possible to try prototype veneers in your mouth before any drilling so that we can see if the proposed changes suit you and you like the new look. Sometimes this isn't possible but you will still have opportunity to view your new smile and make any changes before they are fitted.

Porcelain veneers are often used to make cosmetic changes for teeth that are chipped, worn, stained, crooked, or discoloured but it's important to understand that they cannot be used in every circumstance. After a thorough examination and discussion of the options we will decide if veneers are the right treatment for you.
