Covid and Allon4 Dentistry

Allon4 treatment & CoronavirusCoronavirus has impacted all aspects of society, with everyone having to adapt to a new way of life as a result of the outbreak.

But with months of lockdown taking its toll and things starting to get back to normal, we are now hearing cries on a daily-basis from people desperate to see us and get their teeth fixed. And while we are eager to assist you with your dentistry needs, our top priority is, and always will be, the safety of our customers.

That’s why we have designed a new set of working practices that comply with government guidelines, including the introduction of Allon4 procedures, to allow us to get back to work and fix those failing teeth.

Allon4 to Tackle the Virus

There has been a lot of talk in the media about how difficult dentistry is thanks to the pandemic. This is largely down to the use of high-speed drills that create an aerosol effect, transferring airborne water particles around a room, which can then spread the virus.

This is, of course, a worrying scenario, but our Allon4 dental implant treatment alleviates any concerns you might have regarding catching or spreading of Covid-19 in the dentist’s chair.

This all-new Allon4 procedure features high-tech, implant placement that is a very gentle process compared to drilling.

When you have a filling, the bur rotates at 200,000 rpm. Compare this to placing an implant, which is more like 3-400rpm, and that’s 1/50th of the speed. It also doesn’t create an aerosol effect like a drill would, thus reducing the risk of spreading the virus.

The stages for producing an Allon4 dental implant are also low risk, and we can provide these as standard whilst taking all other required safety measures such as additional PPE.

All of this reduces the spread of the virus and gives you peace of mind around getting your teeth fixed safely.

Further Measures to Reduce Risk

Here at Dovetail, we also risk assess everything we do. That means not only risk assessing our customers, but also the appointment.

So, if you’re shielding or at higher risk of catching the dreaded Covid-19, we are now offering quiet time appointments where you can be kept safely away from other patients.

And while most dental stages are already low risk, we have also implemented safety measures to reduce the risk of infection and spreading of Covid-19.

These include the use of digital scans to reduce the number of impressions required, as well as the Allon4 treatment and quiet time appointments.

Allon4 – What Can We Do?

All the planning and design stages prior to an Allon4 to ensure minimal risk:

  • Upper jaw implant placement and most lower jaw implant placements
  • Design and fitting of finished bridges.

Allon4 – What We Can’t Do?

  • Significant bone correction
  • Very dense bone implant placement (which is quite rare anyway)
  • Work on some shielding and medical groups, if you fit either of these, you should postpone treatment.
